An article in Ginzburg, 1988

A topic that is still present: the crucifix in schools (and public offices). I find this particularly interesting arguments that I think all my comment is unnecessary:

"They say that the crucifix should be removed from classrooms. Ours is a secular state that has no right to impose that there is a crucifix in the classrooms. Mrs. Maria Vittoria Montagnana, a teacher in Cuneo, had removed the crucifix from the wall of his classroom. The school authorities have mandated the riappenderlo. Now it is struggling to be able to remove it again, and why take away from all the classes in our country. With regard to his own class, has fully reason. But I'm sorry that the crucifix to disappear forever from all classes. It seems to me a loss. All or almost all the people I know say that should be removed. Others say it is a thing of no importance. The problems are many and dramatic, in school and elsewhere, and this is a problem to be nothing. It 's true. Well, I'm sorry that the crucifix to disappear. If I were a teacher, I wish in my class were not touched. Each taxation authorities is horrendous, as regards the crucifix on the walls. It can not be mandatory suspension.

But in my opinion can not even be required to remove it. A teacher must be able to hang on, if desired, and remove it if you do not want. It should be a free choice. It would be fair also to counsel with children. If only one of the kids wanted it, listen to him and obey. A child who wants a crucifix hanging on the wall in his class, you must obey. The crucifix in the classroom can not only be the expression of a wish. I want, when they are innocent, must be respected. Religious education is a bullying policy. It 'a lesson. We will spend the words. The school belongs to all, Catholic and non-Catholics. Why you should teach the Catholic religion? But the crucifix does not teach anything. Is silent. Religious education generates a discrimination between Catholics and non Catholics, among those who remain in the class at that time and those who get up and leave. But the crucifix does not generate any discrimination. Is silent. And 'the image of the Christian revolution, which has spread to the world the idea of equality among men hitherto absent.

The Christian revolution has changed the world. Would we deny that the world has changed? They say that nearly two thousand years "before Christ" and "after Christ". Or maybe we want to stop saying that? The crucifix does not generate any discrimination. And 'dumb and silent. There's always been. For Catholics, a religious symbol. For others, can be nothing, a part of the wall. And finally, for someone, at least for a minority, or perhaps for only one child, can be something special, that arouses conflicting thoughts. The rights of minorities must be respected. They say that a crucifix hanging on the wall in the classroom, the students may feel offended Jews. Why should they feel themselves offended Jews? Christ was not he a jew and persecution, and perhaps died in martyrdom, as it did millions of Jews in concentration camps? The crucifix is a sign of human suffering. The crown of thorns, the nails, evoke his suffering. The cross that we think high atop the mountain, is the sign of loneliness in death. I know of no other signs that give so strongly the sense of our human history. The crucifix is part of world history. For Catholics, Jesus Christ is the Son of God to non-Catholics may be simply an image of one that was sold, betrayed, tortured and died on the cross for love of God and neighbor.

Who is an atheist, erases the idea of God but retains the idea of neighbor. They say that many have been sold, betrayed and martyred for their faith, for others, for future generations, and on the walls of their schools no picture. It 's true, but the crucifix represents them all. Why is all of them? Because before Christ had never been told that men are equal and brothers all, rich and poor, believers and nonbelievers, Jews and non Jews and blacks and whites, and no one before him had said that in the center of our existence we must place solidarity among men. And to be sold, betrayed, tortured and killed for their faith in life can happen to anyone. It seems to me that the good guys, the kids, they know right from the benches of the school. Jesus Christ carried the cross. We have all happened or happens to carry on his shoulders the weight of a great misfortune. In this distress we call the cross, even if we are not Catholics, because they are too strong and too many centuries the idea of the cross is imprinted in our thinking. All, Catholic and secular bear or bring the weight of a disaster, pouring blood and tears and trying not to collapse. This tells the crucifix. I told everyone, not just Catholics. Some words of Christ, we always think, and can be secular, atheist, or whatever you want, but always in our thoughts also fluctuate. He said "Love your neighbor as yourself". The words were already written in the Old Testament, but have become the foundation of the Christian revolution. They are the key to everything. They are the opposite of all wars. The opposite of the planes that throw bombs on defenseless people. The opposite of the rapes and indifference that so often surrounds women raped in the streets. We talk about peace, but what to say, by the way of peace, in addition to these simple words? They are the exact opposite of the way and today we live. We always think, just finding it difficult to love ourselves and love others even more difficult, or perhaps even completely impossible, and yet feeling that there is the key to everything.

The words did not evoke these crucified, because we're used to seeing that little sign hanging on, and many times it seems nothing but a part of the wall. But if we are to think that Christ was saying, we're sorry too that should disappear from the wall that little sign. Christ also said: "Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness for they shall be satisfied." When and where will be satisfied? In heaven, say the believers. The others do not know when or where, but these words are, for some reason, feel the hunger and thirst for righteousness tougher, stronger and more ardent. Christ drove the merchants from the Temple. If he were here today would only drive merchants. For the true Catholics, must be hard and painful to move in Catholicism as it is today, move in this frothy mess that has become Catholicism, where politics and religion are mixed ominously. It must be hard and painful for them to untangle this mess the integrity and sincerity of their faith. I believe that the laity should think more often the true Catholics. Just a reminder that there are, to recognize and study, the foamy mess that is today the Catholic world, and they rightly hate. The crucifix is part of world history. The ways of looking and not looking at him are, as we said, many. In addition to believers and unbelievers, false and true Catholics, there are also those who believe sometimes yes and sometimes no. They know one thing, the belief, and unbelief come and go like the waves of the sea. They have the ideas, in general, somewhat confused and uncertain. They suffer from things that no one suffers. They like the crucifix, and maybe they do not know why. They love to see it on the wall. Sometimes I do not believe in nothing. And 'tolerance to allow everyone to build around a crucifix the most uncertain and conflicting thoughts "

Again desolation

Wash his hands again,
soiled with blood
innocent.

Why 'the mistakes of the fathers
continue to fall
on their children?

Repudiation what 'and that' was,
yet still hands
drip.

When will we learn
not to hate?

Let time flow

Tuesday, January 26th, 2010

Lost,
between being a mother
and being the daughter,
let it flow over time.
Locked
of necessity '
or convenient
in rooms too narrow
for your open mind,
let it flow over time.
Undecided
between the demand
and understanding
If the hand held
and 'invitation or request,
let it flow over time.
Do not blame you,
I 'I praise you,
you do not critical,
I 'I approve,
and meanwhile
Time always flows,
until 'time will be'.

In the dream

Did I kiss her,
stopping a grain
weather
and sculpting
in body and heart.

A kiss
with open eyes,
the first,
the last,
the only one.

Fell the hourglass
shattering the soil,
releasing the time,

Waking
I found
new scar
on the skin
at heart,
time of a grain
more 'heavy.

7:50 hours to leave the house to pick up scooter that I did to fix. It is raining but not so much.
Are 15 min walk, so the appointment 'at 8:20 to 8:30.

8.45 am and not 'yet come nobody ...

8.50 am the mechanic arrives (fell asleep) I delivered the motor (50 euros) and a lot where he had put all the stuff that was in my saddle and I have to replace.
I "told" what he did, saying that the problem should be solved even if he did.

I take the motor out of breath and I start (and launch) to go to the office.
2 KM ... that do not pass the scooter back to power down when they groped around in the bottom of the gas.
Well - I think - and perhaps' cold, let's move on ...
Nothing, not the problem 'solved.
I decide to bring him back.
A hard (I have to go at least) I get to the shop, and I mean rispiego the problem and call my father to see if she can 'take the office, I said ok.
I go to meet him ... but no one comes.
By phone, I find that even my mom decided to quit and come with 2 machines for a lasciarmene.
Not bad, better for me, just leave me in coming to the machine (on, in neutral and with the handbrake on) my mom closes the door, central moral? Machine on but closed.
They return home ... and get those keys, and I always look under the water.
They return after a good half hour (found incident) and I can finally move.
Arrival at the office, call them at home to see if everything 's fine but there' no one ... I call on cell: They were stopped by a vigilant control.
They arrested my father, and that 'the only person in the world that meets the 50 km in the city', not even the sewer rats now are so 'up!
Okay ... on the ... tell me, WHERE ARE THE CAMERAS?
